There will be no new strip today due to technical difficulties. Everything we do on the strip is digital, and one of the key tools is a Wacom Cintiq. Using a stylus, I can draw directly on the Cintiq and into my computer. An adaptor is needed to connect Cintiq to computer, and I have had vary bad luck with these little devices that need to be special ordered and can take up to a week to show up. Two adaptors have died out from under me in the space of eight days. Long story short: the adaptor that died last week ate up my buffer, and the one that died yesterday means that there will be no strip today. In lieu of that, I hope you enjoy this commissioned piece I did for readers Pam and David.
I had my fingers crossed that an overnight delivery of an adaptor did not turn out to be the proverbial cavalry over the hill. While we wait for this all to play out I leave you with the proverbial poem, ‘For Want of a Nail’:
For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a nail.
