We had a great time at CalgaryExpo and we enjoyed meeting existing fans, finding new fans, and reconnecting with friends. We were also accosted by Vikings at our table. They bought a greeting card so we were cool.
Graham had a busy weekend sketching and inking at the table while I took people’s money and gave them goods in return. Isn’t capitalism wonderful?
One of the times where I snuck away from the table when Graham wasn’t looking, I got to see this cool Lego diorama by the good people of SALUG, the Southern Alberta Lego User’s Group. Can you spot Little Red Riding Hood?
There also dragons, lots and lots of dragons. (as well as Doctors Who, Batmen, Supermen (women and girls too), and lots of other creative costumes). Our favourite costumes were the Tintin family (Captain Haddock, Bianca Castafiore, Tintin and a stuffed Snowy) and an Asterix.
Among the other commissions we got was this one from John, who asked Graham to make a word bubble for Wil Wheaton to sign. I think I did a pretty good job on the popsicle stick taping if I do say so myself.
Stay funny!
